Humble Beginnings
Gulf Gate Library opened in November 1973, in a small storefront on Gateway Avenue and later moved to 2264 Gulf Gate Drive. A donor gave the property on the corner of Gulf Gate Drive and Curtiss Avenue where a new library opened on December 3, 1983. Gulf Gate Library plays a very important role in the community. Over the years, our library has changed as it strives to meet the needs of a changing society. Gulf Gate Library has become the hub of the community, offering both educational and entertaining programs for adults and children. It is a cultural center, where patrons meet for various clubs and for lectures on art, health, science, travel, and music. Gulf Gate Library is a life-long learning facility.
