What the Friends of Gulf Gate Library Do!
The Friends of the Gulf Gate Library is an organization which has membership dues and a Friends Bookstore which sells books, magazines, and other media materials donated for the purpose of raising money for the library. The Gulf Gate Library Friends membership and book sales play a vital role in making the library attractive and functional for everyone.
The Friends also receive support from your generous contributions. The following are ways you can support the Friends today! -Donations -Membership dues -Proceeds from the Friends Bookstore -Fundraising events held by volunteers -Donations of up to 0.5% of your purchase on Amazon when you click on the link on this website before shopping. The above help pay for the following: -Education programs for the Youth, Teen and Adult programs -The Summer Reading Program -Books, audio-books, e-books, DVD's, Blu-Rays, and Ds for the library system -Computer lab used for teaching computer classes to our patrons -Craft programs for children and teens -Games for teens -Guest performers for family programs -Low-vision equipment -Science workshop for children -Storytellers and puppeteers -Annual luncheon for the volunteers -Furniture and carpeting -Additional parking |
In the past, there have not been enough parking spaces in Gulf Gate Library's parking lot to accommodate the patrons. In 2012, the Friends purchased the vacant lot located across the street from our library on Curtiss Avenue increasing the Library parking spaces.
Please join the Friends of Gulf Gate Library and help the Friends continue their work for Gulf Gate Library. Also, please continue to donate books, magazines and other items to the Friends Bookstore.
